My name is Acewin Tam and I am currently a fifth-year student pursuing an undergraduate professional degree in Architecture. I attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology as a part of their Honors College.
Ever since I was a child, I had always been interested in both design and the STEM fields, so architecture is a perfect combination of the two to me. My passion for architecture was confirmed through related courses and opportunities available to me during my high school years. Through hands-on practice, I am constantly challenged to not only improve my technical and design skills but also conceptual thinking and collaborative skills.
Outside of my coursework, I am involved in Alpha Rho Chi, a professional architecture fraternity, having served various roles within the organization such as president, vice president, secretary, and recruitment/branding committee head. I was also involved in the American Institute of Architecture Students, serving as the Communications Director. I have overseen the graphic output of both organizations, such as designing and approving posters and maintaining the Instagram accounts and websites. Beyond the school environment, I love traveling to take on new experiences and environments as well as have a passion for photography, to keep memories of different places I go to, and graphic design.
I am honored to have had the opportunity to represent my class year in Transect, Super Jury, and Design Showcase, as well as receive awards for my architecture work.
